Which social media for your business?

The changes are limited for success if you do not use social media for your business. Since we are all in quarantine the amount of time spent online is higher than ever. For that reason, you should get your brand out there and create that buss.  But how, and on which social media you should pay attention to. There are a few social media channels out there like Snapchat, Instagram, Tiktok and Pinterest. Let’s dive into the platform.

Starting with Snapchat. Founded in 2011, Snapchat is a mobile app used for networking, communication, messaging, news, content creation and money-making. It’s a blast, not only for friends and influencers but also for brands. It’s now one of the most buzzed-about social networks. Specifically, according to Omnicore, over 3 billion snaps, both photos and videos are posted on Snapchat every day (2019). What makes Snapchat so unique and popular? You can totally show the personal side of your brand. The platform today has become the go-to place for exclusive behind-the-scenes content, adding value to businesses. If your brand is for Gen Z and Zillenials than this the right platform for you. About 40% of all consumers shop while 57% of the Zillenials spontaneously purchase via Snapchat advertising.

Instagram has been around for 10 years. Instagram is the second most accessed network after Facebook. Hence, 90% of all Instagram users follow at least one business. For that reason, your business could be one of them. Instagram also helps you grow your brand awareness and introduce new products.  You can also sell your products through Instagram on your own page or promoting your product via ads. Instagram is a great way to show everything you got from being tagged in guides, showing video content like reels and IGTV and ethically photos. Don’t forget to show your face on Instagram live from time to time because that will boost your engagement.

Tiktok has over 500 million active users. There is a huge community on Tiktok that heavily and daily engage with each other. Hence, it is available in 155 countries and 90% of Tiktok users access the app multiple times a day. That means that your product or service can reach many customers. Moreover, sounds that are trending are important to use as well. Sometimes, the sound, dance or style of the Tiktok video goes viral and that can make you a lot of money. There has never been a platform where it was this easy to build a community. If you are opting for an influencer marketing campaign it is important to have the same time and sound of the Tiktok video. However, Gen Z knows when you are trying to sell them something. Therefore, play it on the safer and be a friend instead of a seller.

Pinterest is a platform where you can find inspiration by sharing and pinning pictures and videos. It has over 300 million monthly global users and boasts over 200 billion pins. Via Pinterest you can easily set up an add where people can click on and find your website. Shopify noticed that 93% of users were using it to plan their purchases, and that the average resulting order value was 50 dollar or higher. Therefore, your small business should set up an account and start pinning pictures.
